Where Business is a Force for Good
I believe business needs to be different and that a movement is already afoot. You and I are at the forefront of this movement. People across the globe say it is time for positive change. And no matter which way we look at it, our world is crying out for help, for a more harmonious, empowering and sustainable existence on Planet Earth for its inhabitants.
Long standing organizations and businesses have much influence in the world. They impact thousands of people each day in relation to their customers, workers, suppliers and communities. Many are trying to do the right thing by setting up one-off projects of doing good in the world. I commend them on those efforts. Project by project we can make a difference.

Business has a huge impact on how our society operates. It is the way we have decided to exchange goods and services. It provides people the income to put food on their tables. With the singular focus of the business of profitability, decisions over years were focused on which option would make the most short term profit, often at the cost of something else like employees, customers or the environment. Business can continue to make decisions that contribute to the problems we are seeing in our environment or society, or instead, decide to be part of the solution. It’s a decision that we leaders are making many times each day with every conclusion we make, and every direction we give to our teams, whether we realize it or not.
For the leaders who want to be part of the solution, I help them to create positive change in today’s changing landscape.
I believe we are at a key pivot point in our society - business can continue with its primary driver being short term profitability for the shareholder OR leaders can choose to take the bold step and pivot to a multi prong approach of prioritizing all key stakeholders they impact including employees, customers, investors, suppliers, humanity, and the environment. I help leaders and organizations create movement in this direction by creating positive change, one project at a time.
As mentioned in an article I wrote back in 2016, "I believe it is time to change the game of how business is played to one where success is based upon the impact the organization has on people and the planet instead of just profits. I believe the companies that don’t make this change will be at a competitive disadvantage within 5 years.” This holds true now more than ever with the current economic climate along with the impacts on climate change.
I believe we as leaders need to shift our focus from primarily short term profitability. Instead, we need to adopt a new definition of success for business that’s focused on the long term health of ALL of our key stakeholders including workers, customers, investors, society and the environment.
My Values
I value many things but they really come down to these 3:
Unity
I value Unity because I believe when we take an approach of how we can be united with others, it can result in more harmonious, empowering and collaborative environments and as a result, build better results. It doesn’t mean that we avoid conflict, but instead find ways to approach differences diplomatically and find common ground to build upon.
Innovation
I value Innovation because I believe when we take an approach of innovative thinking we choose to bring fresh new perspectives to old ways of doing things and where we can discover that things that once looked like opposites or a paradox, can actually co-exist. As a result we can break through mediocrity, create synergy and processes that are not only efficient and empowering but actually elegant.
Courage
I value Courage to be authentic, to stand for change and to stand for what is right. To have such courage requires some level of trust with those around us and seeing such courage is empowering to others and creates a strength, the ability to influence.
My commitment to this shift is illustrated in the following:
To increase the impact I can make, I left the comfort of a corporate role many years ago now to serve leaders of many organizations who are on the quest to making positive change in their organizations in today’s changing landscape.
I have started the rigorous process for my business to become a Certified B Corp which includes putting the commitment into my statement of incorporation.
In celebration of each project contributing to positive change, a donation will be made to either the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society or the Canada-Ukraine Foundation in honour of my country, ancestors and family members.
We are the leaders, the change agents, and the advocates for this new world to unfold. The world is truly waiting for us to step forward. It is time. Let’s go.

Culture & Efficiency
While I speak on this website a lot about the end outcome of an empowering, harmonious and sustainable existence for us all, my focus and expertise is largely focused on the people side of the changes that need to occur to make that happen.
Often times people read the words sustainability and automatically think “oh this consultant must be all about the specific sustainability rules and regulations or how to quantify it.” While I acknowledge there is definitely a need for that, (and I am a strong supporter and user of them, including BCorp's impact assessment) that is currently not my focus.
My strength is on the people side of things including the business operations, culture and the efficient use of the human energy that is required to create and sustain an empowering, harmonious and sustainable existence. It’s indeed a quest in itself, and is foundational for the true shift needed for long term success and yet often overlooked.

I believe that for us to to operate in our world in the long run, we need to have relationships that are harmonious where we can collaborate to create the solutions we need. With conflict and repression, we just waste our limited energies.

Sustainability
I believe that for us to operate in our world in the long run, we need to place a high importance on streamlined use of our energy sources, including human resources. We can do this through the use of elegant processes and solutions and choices of what is necessary and sufficient, instead of mediocrity or excess.
